Our History

XP Distribution is part of the TypeMaker Group, a company formed in 1985 by Directors, Geoffrey Clements and Simon Prais. The Group was initially established to provide services to the then emerging computer-based design and publishing market.

TypeMaker grew quickly throughout the late 1980s and 1990s and became a premier developer of graphic software and colour management solutions for a range of industries including ceramics.

Bespoke TypeMaker software applications were developed and used by customers in more than twenty countries and an expert technical team grew to offer advice, support and proven colour management expertise to an ever expanding and varied project portfolio.

In 2002, TypeMaker moved into the emerging digital imaging market and, drawing on these years of experience and in-depth knowledge of colour management and image manipulation, became one of the first companies to provide a range of products and services, training and technical advice for this developing business area.

Today, TypeMaker, and its group of companies including XP Distribution, stand at the forefront of the European colour management, digital imaging and graphics markets, providing expert consultancy, education and a market leading product range to a diverse cross section of customers.

In addition, XP Distribution, as part of the TypeMaker group, has evolved into the leading distributor of graphic and digital imaging products, serving Europe, Middle East and Africa with a strong and ever-expanding network of reseller partners.

XP Distribution has its headquarters in the UK with regional hubs in Germany and Poland and has a network of business development specialists throughout Europe supporting our customers at a local level.

The Team

The professional and dedicated XP Distribution team are one of the cornerstones of the business. We pride ourselves on the fact that the XP Distribution team have tested all the new products that we introduce into the market so they can offer advice from a point of experience and knowledge.

A team of experts charged with developing campaigns for your business and vendor network including on-line, digital and in-store campaigns
The teams working in the local distribution hubs are extremely experienced and dedicated to ensure that all our products are delivered on time throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. The single platform ERP system ensures that the information flow between you and our internal team is seamless and up to date including the latest data feeds on our product range.
The in-house multi-lingual finance team have many years’ experience in dealing with accounts on a pan-European basis.


At XP Distribution we understand that ensuring that you receive your products on time is paramount. To this aim, the business has invested in its logistics capability and has established three distribution hubs in Europe which are strategically located to supply the vast majority of our customers within 48 hours.

As we service Europe, Middle East and Africa it is essential that we work with a logistics partner that has the capability to distribute to all these regions to the standard that we know you would expect. On this basis, we have selected UPS as our global logistics partner, as they guarantee to offer the highest level of service with complete visibility of the goods at any stage during the transaction.

Where customers require a customised logistics service, we can offer this, including plain-label direct-to-end-user deliveries, specialised packaging or labelling requirements and alternative carriers.

As we know it is important to you that we are able to supply the right products when your business needs them, we have established an extensive stockholding throughout our facilities with the flexibility to move the inventory to a particular location if your business needs it.
